After the initial shock of receiving a grant wore off, Brittany and I realized that we had to sit down, create a budget, and best of all…we had to dream big. We had the opportunity to do things that we have wanted to do for a while, but were financially unable to. This grant is enabling us to be more of what we have dreamed of being and do more of what we have been dreaming of doing. We will still be the same 3B2D as always, just kicking things up a notch. We are doing this in a few different way!
One of the biggest and most exciting (for me!) issssssssss…..DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!
On April 14th, we are launching our own “outreach” in the park. You see, we are really good about partnering with other organizations to distribute bags and serve, but it has really been on our hearts to launch something of our own. We are shooting for the second Saturday of every month, but we will see after the first one goes down!
Ready for the super cool part?
The whole initiative will be centered around art. We plan on serving an early dinner, passing out bags, and laying out art supplies. We are going to challenge people to be creative that might not have been challenged to be creative in a really long time…or people who may not have had the opportunity to do so. Our ultimate goal is going to be restoration and healing. We will be implementing some art therapy into it as well.
We couldn’t be more excited to launch this new initiative! There will be volunteer opportunities posted on the website shortly. We would LOVE for you to be involved, whether helping the day of or helping provide art supplies! For the day of, we are looking for groups to provide & serve the meal (anticipating lots more people eating than painting), and people to be there to encourage and help those that are painting or doing other artsy things. If you are interested, please sign up to join us!
Thanks so much for all the constant support and encouragement you all so freely offer us! We hope it will only continue with this new initiative!
P.S.- I found a few quotes that speak to the heart of why we are launching this!

Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures. – Henry Ward Beecher
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. – Pablo Picasso
If you hear a voice within you say “you cannot paint,” then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced. – Vincent Van Gogh
Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time. – Thomas Merton
